Wednesday Fa(t)shion Inspirations, 4/15/15: Pastels and florals
OOTD: Unicorns and playing dress-up with puppies
I wore this to a clothing swap/picnic that I co-hosted with a friend this weekend. One of the best parts of the event: her boyfriend had to dog-sit for his mom’s dogs at the last minute, so he brought them along. I particularly bonded with the yellow lab, who reminded me so much of the lab I grew up with…and I had a bit too much fun dressing her up. That’s what dogs are for, right? 😉
Top: Lane Bryant via clothing swap, skirt: Â two small skirts from the Buffalo Exchange sewn together by a friend, vest: Torrid via the Big Thrifty, fascinator: a vendor whose name I forget at a local craft fair, earrings (made out of plastic bath mats!): The Blue Cloud Gallery, necklace: Fancy Lady Industries, spiked bracelet: So Good, studded wristband: PacSun
Holly looked like a rockstar in my sunglasses. 🙂
#FatshionFebruary, day 18: forbidden, adorable love
What’s cuter than a narwhal and a unicorn in love? Nothing that I know of.
shirt: TeeTurtle (present from Steve), narwhal figurine: Shana Logic (present from me to Steve), skirt: made by a friend (two small unicorn skirts that I bought at the Buffalo Exchange, sewn together), flip-flops: Old Navy, hair bow: Crown and Glory, necklace: So Good
Wednesday Fa(t)shion Inspirations 11/6/13, Halloween Edition
August wishlist: birthday edition
In honor of my birthday, which is coming up tomorrow–can you believe I’m going to be 28?!–I’ve put together a compilation of things I’d love to get if a magical fairy fatmother showed up waving her wand at my front door.
If I actually had a fairy fatmother, the first thing I’d ask for would be a stable, satisfying job with good pay and benefits–but pretty things are much more fun to fantasize about.
You can click each image to go to the Polyvore set, which has the details.
Another thing I would love to have, but that Polyvore wouldn’t let me clip, is a custom illustration by Natalie Perkins. Here are a few of my favorites that she’s drawn so far (via FLI’s Facebook page)–aren’t they gorgeous?
OOTD: Bright and colorful, and a giant inflatable pickle
This is what I wore to my friend’s laser tag/arcade games/Irish pub/historic-hotel-hanging-out birthday party. (Well, at least for the daytime parts–I changed into my favorite red dress for the evening).
Both the tank top and shorts/capris are from Lane Bryant–in fact, they’re the ones I mentioned in this post. I love finally having a pair of soft, stretchy, comfortable bottoms that are actually colorful!
Tank top and shorts: Lane Bryant, sandals: Clark’s (from a local shoe store, but this style is now discontinued), TARDIS earrings: gift from Steve, headband: Target, slinky worn as bracelet: found in a box of free stuff on the curb (yes, really! my neighborhood is awesome), bangles: Deb, necklace: Kelsea Echo Studio

Halloween Fun
Honestly, I was kind of lazy this year. I’ve had more creative costumes, like the time I was a Freudian slip.
I put together a cupcake-loving unicorn costume using my pink Domino Dollhouse petticoat, We Love Fine Pinkie Pie cupcake t-shirt, a cupcake sweater that a friend gave me as a birthday present last year, and a unicorn horn headband from Sick for Cute. I was also wearing cupcake socks, but they looked weird over my leggings, so I ended up putting them underneath.
Steve’s costume was even easier, but more awesome: Captain Hammer!
We sat out on the front porch giving candy to kids, including an adorable baby pirate! I love seeing little kids all dressed up. 🙂
