I didn’t have the chance to take any full outfit shots yesterday, but here are a few pictures I snapped while walking along the waterfront before the #NMOS14 vigil.
Dress: Domino Dollhouse, necklace and earrings: So Good, bracelets: Deb, glitter bow: Crown & Glory, sunglasses: Sweet and Lovely
I’m not quite sure what to call this look…preppy glam mermaid? Aquatic flapper punk?
When I first saw this dress at a clothing swap, I almost didn’t pick it up because it was so similar to this one that I already had. But then I decided to give it a try anyway, and I’m glad I did. It’s less fancy than the other one but still nice, so it makes a good everyday work dress.
Dress: Connected Woman via clothing swap, necklace: Forever 21, bracelets: Deb, earrings: Faces, shoes: Clark’s (yeah, I don’t know why I didn’t wear black sandals with this…)
What’s better than wearing lace? Wearing lots of lace, of course!
Top and skirt: Deb, shoes: Naot, clear rhinestone bracelet: Forever 21, headband: I Am Joolienn, long pearl necklace: Claire’s, pink bracelet, short pearl necklace, earrings, and clutch: So Good
Eeep, I’m so behind on outfit posts! I have so many pictures I’ve taken and just haven’t edited and uploaded yet.
This is a dress I got at the Big Thrifty, and wore to Three Big Fat Voices. It’s the perfect summer dress–light and comfortable and also glamorous. I want to wear it all the time.
Dress: The Big Thrifty, sandals: Naot, rose bangle: H&M, other bangles: Torrid and Deb, necklace: Claire’s, earrings: Artifaktori, fascinator: Forever 21, sequined jacket: Kohl’s
I’m so in love with this t-shirt that Steve got me for Valentine’s Day. It’s a sad hedgie that wants to give out hugs, but no one will hug it because it’s spiky!
Shirt: TeeTurtle, skirt: Torrid, studded wristband: PacSun, pink bangles: Rainbow (or maybe Wet Seal?), leggings: American Apparel, bow: Crown & Glory, earrings: a vendor who came to my college, pearl necklace: So Good, sneakers: Sugar Shoes via eBay, pink cameo ring: Target, heart ring: a toy store in Connecticut when I was 15
So, I’m usually wary of the whole activism-as-fashion-statement thing. But I make an exception for building outfits around my hot pink 350.org shirt, because it’s just that awesome.
And I know it’s not just a pretty shirt–I’ve been involved with 350 and other climate justice work in real life.
Speaking of which, fellow Bostonians, this Friday there will be a Singing for the Planet benefit concert. If you at all enjoy music and/or living on this planet, and have $20 to give toward the latter, you should check it out.
Top: 350 store, skirt: Deb, leggings: American Apparel, sneakers: Sugar Shoes via eBay a million years ago, cardigan: Old Navy, cupcake hairclip: Sick for Cute, pink bow hairclip: Stone Flower, rose bangle: H&M, pink bangle: Deb, pink rose ring: Kelsea Echo, silver rose ring: Claire’s?, pearl necklace: So Good, earrings: Artifaktori, socks: probably Target, tote bag: Border’s (sigh)
The Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend, one of my friends invited me over for a holiday feast. Although I knew most of the guests would be dressed casually, it was a perfect excuse for me to get glammed up.
Happily, I was not the only one dressed up for the occasion–my friend’s sister was wearing a gorgeous gothic-inspired Betsey Johnson top, and her husband was wearing a fez! They both have fabulous, steampunk- and vintage- inspired style, and always know I can count on them to show up dressed with panache. They were likewise unsurprised to see that I was dressed up. 🙂
Dress: Macy’s, fishnets and shawl and boa: not sure, shoes: Naot, fascinator and earrings and short rhinestone necklace: So Good, long rhinestone necklace: Buffalo Exchange, medium rhinestone necklace: Target, pearls and rose bangle: H&M, crystals: my great-grandmother’s, silver/black bangles: Torrid and Deb, rhinestone bracelet: Forever 21, heart rhinestone ring: the Toy Chest, rose ring: Claire’s
Have you ever wondered how to dress up a basic Hello Kitty tee?
Wonder no more. It’s as easy as adding a ruffled blazer, a big hair flower, and lots of bling. 😉
Blazer: Talbot’s (gift from my grandmother), t-shirt and jeans: Old Navy, pearls: So Good, earrings: Artifaktori, bangles: Deb and Torrid, rose ring: Claire’s, heart ring: The Toy Chest, hair flower: H&M
