Fatshion February, day #7: pink and purple pastels

This is more of an AOTD (accessories of the day) than an OOTD, because my clothing was pretty boring: just a basic black shirt and gray yoga pants. I’m so ready for it to be the weekend so I can actually wear nice things.

top: thrifted, necklace: Betsey Johnson via eBay, butterfly hairclips: Crown & Glory, earrings: Lithia’s Creations

I love how the earrings, necklace, and butterfly clips look together. Sometime when I’m not at work I’ll have to wear them with my lavender lace dress, which you can see here and here.

I love this necklace, but the circle-y parts on each side have the annoying habit of flipping over constantly. I haven’t been able to find a way to make them lie straight, so I don’t wear it that often. Do any of you have that problem with certain necklaces? Is there a solution?

OOTD: I won a fairy wing earring giveaway!

A little while ago, I was lucky to win a giveaway of a pair of fairy wing earrings from On Gossamer Wings. They just arrived in the mail on Friday, and they’re gorgeous! My inner fairy is enjoying them very much.

Top: Dare To Wear via fatshionxchange, skirt: Kohl’s (about 10 years ago! This is a magic skirt that has literally fit me at every size within an 80-pound range), shoes: Clarke’s (yes, a real fairy would just go barefoot, but sometimes there’s broken glass on the sidewalk), necklace: Betsey Johnson via eBay, light pink and silver bangles: Deb, dark pink bangle: Kohl’s, earrings: On Gossamer Wings, rings: I’ve had them since I was 15, hair clips….ah, everywhere. There’s at least H&M, Forever 21, Claire’s, and a local fair represented in there.

Pseudo-DIY flower crown fun

So, this isn’t exactly a DIY flower crown, but it’s not exactly a store-bought one either.

This is what happens when I put a whole bunch of hairclips all over my head:

I really like how it came out–I will definitely do an outfit post wearing it at some point!

The clips are from: Forever 21 (pink roses), H&M (butterflies and mint roses), and Claire’s (silver, white, and champagne roses). And yes, that is Steve’s TARDIS lunchbox in the background! I intend to do an outfit post featuring it as well–it would go so perfectly with my TARDIS earrings and the royal blue sundress I thrifted a while back.

OOTD: Butterflies in my hair, flowers, and treehouse adventures

A few weeks ago, I went to visit family in Philadelphia. While we were there, we spent an afternoon at Longwood Gardens.

Most of the outdoor flowers hadn’t bloomed yet, but it was still lovely, and we saw lots of beautiful flowers and plants inside the Conservatory, which is like a giant greenhouse.

Making friends with a hanging plant in the Conservatory.

Even though it was still chilly, I had to go for a springy vibe with butterfly hairclips and general rainbowy-ness.

Top: We Love Fine, skirt: thrifted, necklace: pendant from Michael’s on a chain, socks: Domino Dollhouse, sneakers: Brooks, pink bangle: Deb, rainbow bangle: So Good, TARDIS earrings: gift from Steve, green butterfly clips: H&M, pink and purple butterfly clips: not sure, cardigan: Old Navy, silver purse: Sears, tote bag: Border’s

There were three very friendly kitties roaming the grounds! I spent a disproportionate amount of time petting them.
