This month’s Alternative Curves theme is black lipstick, which is something I love. But while putting together an outfit, I realized that I couldn’t find my black lipstick, so I decided to go with dark purple instead. I’ve been meaning to get a good-quality black lipstick anyway, so if I find one within the month, I’ll do another post.
Crop top: Xhilaration via clothing swap (actually a straight size top that fits me like a crop top), skirt: Elementz – thrifted, jacket: Domino Dollhouse, shoes: Buffalo Exchange, earrings: Sadie Green’s, mood necklace: Claire’s, tattoo choker necklace and bracelet: eBay, spike wristband: Hot Topic, spike and stud wristband: So Good, skull ring: Torrid, lipstick: NYX Wicked Lippie in Betrayal
I got the skirt on my most recent trip to Savers, which is seriously the best thrift store ever. It’s a bit more expensive than the average thrift store, but they also have the best plus size selection I’ve ever seen.
After taking these pictures, I realized the jacket is a different shade of black than the skirt. Oops! If I wear this outfit again, I’d wear my white fuzzy bolero (which you can see here) instead.

NYX, and the Fergie Collection of Wet n/ Wild have black lipsticks. And Hard Candy had a black lipgloss called Black Rose.
Cool, I will check them out!
This is so 90s! You totally nailed it, head to toe. The shoes are especially Delias-worthy. I used to wear my hair in “bun ears” all the time. It was super cute! It was during my PacSun phase. Lots of Roxy sweatshirts, wide leg pants, and Etnies!

Thanks! 😀 Oh man, I remember those wide leg pants and Roxy sweatshirts.
The shoes were a lucky find–I actually got two pairs, one in silver and one in gold. They’re not comfortable enough for doing much walking, especially since there’s no strap on the back to keep my feet from falling out, but they’re great for parties and outfit pictures.
Belly for the win! And those earrings are TO DIE FOR!
Thanks! 😀
Yay! Love the lipstick and LOVE your hair! So cool this up-do! ❤
Thanks! ❤
ugh!! I hate when my blacks don’t match!! haha
this is great, such a perfect “weirdo babe” vibe happening!
Those earrings are frickin’ fantastic!! I’m lusting after them!
❤
Thanks! ❤
That lipstick is gorgeous on you and the top and shoes are seriously lustworthy.
Thanks!
I’ve heard great things about the Portland Black Lipstick Company 🙂 Also your hair looks awesome styled like this! 😀
I’ve heard good things about them too–I will have to check them out. And thanks! 😀
What an adorable outfit!! Also, it’s nice to know Savers has a great plus section in other parts of the country too. I love that place.
Thanks! Savers is the best. I’ve only started going recently, and I love it.
