Betsey Johnson’s jewelry is the best. If a magic genie ever appeared and granted me unlimited jewelry by one designer, I’d pick her hands down–although Tarina Tarantino would be a close second.

This skirt is my first Chubby Cartwheels piece, and I am happy with it! It’s really comfortable, and great for both work and non-work outfits. In fact, I’ve worn this exact outfit to work with different accessories (black mary janes instead of boots, pearls instead of a statement necklace, and no flower crown). I love that it has a layer of soft silver velvet under the pinkish-lavender lace.

  1. You got the coat?!? Yay!!! I, of course, have been eying it since the collection’s launch announcement, too. Because I stalk pink things. But I just can’t justify another pink coat. I picked up the pink moto Nicolette did for Mynt1792 last year. Chubby Cartwheels is another brand I’ve been curious about. I follow her in Instagram. I’ve started making a list of brands I want to get to know better this year. Love the mix of dusky pinks in this look, Laura!

    • Thanks! Yeah, I can see how two pink coats would be too many. I actually bought a pink moto jacket from SimplyBe a while back, similar to your one from Mynt1792, but unfortunately it was too tight in the shoulders, so I had to return it.

Chubby Cartwheels is so awesome, I definitely recommend getting something from her someday! I just noticed that her velvet skater skirt now comes in dark purple, and ohmygod I want it. That’s the perfect kind of skirt that could go either business casual or romantic goth depending how you style it.

  2. Those boots!!!

Also, I remember you blogged about wanting to thrift more & mentioned Savers. They are having a 50% off sale on Monday (starts tomorrow for members & I’m quite sure you can just sign up on the spot). I have such great luck there usually finding 1/2 a dozen cardigans & shoes on each visit. I only visit on their 50% off sale days. I have gotten $100 Talbots Merino wool sweaters & equally nice things for $5 and less.
