It’s really and truly fall–and fall in New England is pretty awesome. I’ve already been apple-picking twice, enjoyed lots of apple cider donuts, eaten many pumpkin-flavored things, and enjoyed the foliage everywhere from my own street to the woods. I even hate the rain less than usual, because it makes the leaves look so bright.
And of course, I’ve been having fun with cooler-weather dressing. Sweaters and leggings make it so easy to add color, texture, and pattern to any outfit.
This dress is one of the few great pieces I ever found at H&M+. After my first foray into their plus size section, it went downhill, and seemed to consist mainly of baggy, solid-colored shirts. Then last week, I went into my local H&M to scope out the dress selection for a friend, and the plus size section was gone.
I don’t know if its disappearance is temporary or permanent–either way, I’m disappointed but not terribly surprised. I have a feeling that they axed the section because it wasn’t selling well–which was, of course, because it had such crappy selection to begin with. *sigh*
In any case, I’m glad I got this dress when I did. It’s pretty and floaty enough to add some girly whimsy to my day, practical enough to wear to work, and can easily be dressed up, dressed down, or punkified with the right accessories. It’s also comfortable and has held up well over the 2+ years I’ve owned it. Dear H&M: more of this, please.
