OOTD: Ringing in 2014 with my glamorous friends

Dress: Eloquii via Gwynnie Bee, sandals: Naot, headband: Crown & Glory, bangles: Deb and Torrid, necklace, earrings, and wristband: So Good, clutch: eBay

I had a wonderful New Year’s Eve party, which I described a bit here. It was one of those nights that makes me so grateful for my friends and community.

My friend Lauren, looking dapper in a purple vest, brought along a bunch of her friends, including Nikki (in the black dress) and Maggie (in the floral top and black skirt). On the left is Jesse, wearing an awesome striped dress she got at Target.

Maggie and I just clicked, and it was awesome. We share a love of fashion, makeup, nail polish, and all things sparkly/glamorous/rhinestone-bedecked. There will be many nail-painting parties and other girly good times in our future. šŸ™‚

We even wear similar jewelry!

And how cute is her hairclip?

I also had a great time talking about makeup with Rebecca, who is on the left in the picture below (isn’t her bag the best?). Before the party started, we hung out a bit and compared various makeup products, tried them on, and looked at all sorts of fun and colorful makeup online. Sometimes I go a while without wearing makeup beyond my basic eyeliner and lipgloss, and I forget how much fun it can be–not to mention how much fun it is to bond with other people over it.

We had some fun with silly poses…

I love this dress so much. It was one of the items I rented during my free trial of Gwynnie Bee, of which I’ll do a full review soon. Luckily, they let you buy items that you really like, for about half of the retail price. I felt especially lucky to get this dress, since Eloquii no longer exists (although it will be re-opening soon).

I’m obsessed with watercolor floral prints, and I love how this one works for all seasons. It also matches perfectly with all three of my Domino Dollhouse petticoats (light pink, mint green, and bright yellow), although I ended up not being in a petticoat mood.

Speaking of seasons, no, I did not wear those sandals outside! If the party had been anywhere but my own apartment, I would have worn black teggings and Mary Janes, but I like how the dress looks best with bare legs.

  1. Oh, you look so beautiful! That dress is so pretty! Actually, everyone looked really beautiful, good taste in clothing your friends have! Looks like an awesome night.

  2. I love party pictures, especially ones where all of the attendees are photographed together. You get a real feel for the personality of the party as well as get some awesome eye candy with all of fun outfits. I love that your look is so sunny on what is usually a frigid, gray day. And those gold flower crown and accessories bring in that festive NYE glitziness!
