On Saturday night, Steve and I went out to Max Brenner, a chocolate-centric restaurant in Boston. I had vaguely heard of it, but didn’t have a burning urge to go there until I saw both Natalie’s post and someone else’s Twitter picture of a martini topped with marshmallows.
How cool is it that we have the same restaurant in both Australia and the US?
Here I am, glamming it up in the T (subway) station on the way there.
Dress: Dress Barn via eBay, petticoat: Domino Dollhouse, snow boots: gift from my mom, leggings: American Apparel, sequined jacket: Kohl’s, tiny hat and earrings: So Good, pearl necklace and rose bangle: H&M, silver bangles: Deb and Torrid, rhinestone bracelet: Forever 21
You might remember this dress from contra prom and one of my summer outfit posts. Although I could have worn a less summery dress, I was really in the mood to wear this one, so I decided to winterize it with leggings and my favorite jacket. I’ve had the jacket for years, and it sheds sequins everywhere–much to the dismay of some friends whose apartments I’ve visited!–but it still looks great.
The snow boots? Yeah. It had been raining earlier, and I was afraid to get my Mary Janes wet if it started raining again. (I don’t have actual rain boots, so I use my snow boots for any kind of precipitation.) I figured at least they’re black, though, so they don’t clash too badly.
The food at Max Brenner was delicious. We started off with macaroni and cheese, which I didn’t photograph because I was too hungry. It was gooey, crunchy on top, studded with bacon, and came with a side of marinara sauce. 🙂
I also had an Italian hot chocolate, which came in a “hug mug”:
And then we split chocolate pizza and churros fondue.
It was all delicious, and there’s something so magical about an entire restaurant devoted to chocolate. It’s very Willy Wonka.
There was also a gift shop, where they sold chocolate-scented body products!
All in all, a lovely chocolatey night!
