OOTD: Galaxy leggings, part 1

Published December 29, 2012 by Laura (dusty_rose)

I was so excited to get my hands on a pair of Domino Dollhouse’s galactic-print leggings. I originally ordered them in a 2x when they first came out, but that turned out to be too big, so I had to exchange them for a 1x–and then wait for them to come back in stock. My pair finally arrived on Christmas Eve, so it felt like a present.

They’re super-comfy, and I love how they look on me, so I’ve already worn them multiple times. Here’s my first outfit–another one will be coming soon!

Shirt: Old Navy, jacket: Kohl’s, leggings: Domino Dollhouse, boots: Target, bow: Crown & Glory, necklace: Claire’s, rainbow bangle and earrings: So Good, spike wristband: Hot Topic, black and silver bangles: Deb and Torrid

I don’t usually wear leggings as pants–I have nothing against the idea, but it’s not really my style. However, with leggings this awesome, how could I not?

This jacket is my favorite. I’ve had it for years, and it sheds sequins everywhere, but it still looks fabulous.

I love having outer space all over my legs. :) And with the Hello Kitty top, I get to have HK and space in one outfit, even if I can’t have them in one item.

Stay tuned for more cosmic outfits!

  • I gotta say, I am completely baffled by the galaxy leggings. I have seen everyone getting them and raving over them, and I’m so confused. I know that I’m a boring solid color t-shirts and jeans kind of gal, but still. I cannot for the life of me figure out the appeal. It doesn’t seem like great colors. Is it that it’s space… like a sci-fi kind of thing?

    • For me, it is partly a sci-fi thing–there’s something so cool about putting outer space on my body. I do also like the colors, and I’m a huge fan of any kind of nature-related photorealistic print: flowers, clouds, sunsets, etc. They’re common in straight sizes, but really hard to find in plus sizes, which is what makes these particular leggings so exciting.
